Who has the lowest Medigap rates? I don’t want to pay too much. I need the best Medicare supplement rates. Who has the lowest Medicare supplement rates in my area? Is it AARP? Blue Cross? Mutual of Omaha? Can I trust lesser known Medicare supplement companies like Sterling Investors, Philadelphia American or New Era?
I have looked at AARP and Blue Cross but their rates seem high. Living on a fixed income makes it difficult to pay too much, and I need the lowest Medigap rates.
How do I find the lowest Medigap rates?
You can search online but very few carriers allow their rates to be published. You can get instant Medigap quotes at Georgia Medicare Plans, but you will have very few choices. We do have rates from Blue Cross, Mutual of Omaha and other Medicare supplement carriers, but only a handful of our clients pick them as their Medigap carrier.
When we show them how much they can save by making application with another carrier like Philadelphia American (Tennessee Medigap rates) or New Era (Georgia Medigap rates) they don’t want to pay the higher prices from other carriers.
Can I trust lesser known Medicare supplement companies like Sterling Investors, Philadelphia American, or New Era?
In your search for the lowest Medigap rates, you need to consider companies like Sterling, Philadelphia American or New Era. Keep in mind you will need to find an agent specializing in Medicare supplement plans if you need a rate. Many agents will only show you rates from Blue Cross or Mutual of Omaha. They will probably never tell you about any plan other than Medicare supplement plan F.
Why is this?
Because those carriers generally have some of the highest rates (especially for plan F) and pay the highest commission.
In other words, some agents are more concerned about how much they earn from a sale vs. looking out for your best interest.
So can you trust some of these lesser known carriers that usually have the lowest Medigap rates?
Let me answer by saying this. I have been in the health insurance business since 1975 and have focused on the Medicare side since 2008. My professional reputation is at stake every time I talk with seniors and I have no desire to throw away 37 years of building a good name by suggesting a plan or carrier that won’t pay claims or will jack up your premiums on the first renewal.
Finding the lowest Medigap rates in Georgia or Tennessee is easy when you know who to ask and who to trust. When you pay more you don’t get more, you simply paid too much.
